How email works on your Basic, Standard, or Premium plan, and how to get it set up
Your Basic plan includes email forwarding for your new domain. Forwarding means mail sent to your domain relays automatically to your Biz22 account email — the same address you sign in with. It doesn't create a new mailbox; it just redirects mail to the inbox you already check.
At order time you could optionally give a specific address to receive mail at (like info@yourbusiness.com) — if so, only that one address forwards, and anything else sent to your domain won't arrive anywhere. If you left it blank, any address at your domain (even a typo) forwards to your account email — the default, since nothing gets missed.
We set this up for you.If your domain was purchased through Biz22, forwarding to your account email is configured automatically — there's nothing for you to do at your domain's DNS settings. It's typically live within minutes of your order, though it can occasionally take a bit longer to propagate.
Contact us at biz22.com/contact to switch between forwarding everything and forwarding just one address, or to change which address that is. No DNS changes needed on your end.
Not seeing mail arrive as expected? Double-check your account email and spam folder — if forwarding still isn't working after that, contact usand we'll take a look.
Automatic forwarding only applies to domains purchased through Biz22, since it requires us to control your domain's DNS settings. If you registered your domain with another provider (or brought an existing domain to your Biz22 site), you'll need to set up forwarding directly with that registrar — most offer a free, built-in "Email Forwarding" or "Email Routing" option in their DNS settings. Contact usif you're not sure which case applies to you.
Your Standard plan includes a fully white-labeled mailbox on your own domain (like you@yourbusiness.com). Unlike forwarding, this is a real, standalone mailbox — you sign in and send/receive mail directly from your domain address, with its own storage and login.
This process typically completes within a few business days of your order. You'll get a separate email as soon as your mailbox is ready — no action is needed from you in the meantime.
Once your mailbox is ready, you can access it from our webmail, or connect it to your phone or desktop mail app (Apple Mail, Outlook, Gmail app, etc.) using standard IMAP/SMTP settings.
Your password is included in your mailbox-ready email once provisioning completes. Username is always your full mailbox address (e.g. you@yourbusiness.com) — never just the part before the @. The exact server settings for every setup below are also listed there, but the reference tables here will match.
| Incoming server (IMAP) | imap.biz22.com |
| IMAP port | 993 (SSL) |
| Outgoing server (SMTP) | smtp.biz22.com |
| SMTP port | 587 or 465 (SSL) |
| Username | your full email address (e.g. you@yourbusiness.com) |
Adding your mailbox above only sets up mail. Calendar (CalDAV) and Contacts (CardDAV) sync are not included in that setup — this trips people up, so add them separately:
Both use the same server: dav.biz22.com, with your full email address as the username and your mailbox password.
Mail: In the Gmail app (or your default mail app), choose Add account → Other, then Personal (IMAP) — enter the same imap.biz22.com / smtp.biz22.com settings from the table above, with your full email address as the username.
Calendar & Contacts: Android's built-in CalDAV/CardDAV support varies by manufacturer and OS version, so the most reliable option is the free DAVx⁵ app from the Play Store, pointed at dav.biz22.com — it syncs both Calendar and Contacts. Some devices also offer a built-in "CalDAV account" option under Settings → Accounts → Add account, if you'd rather try that first.
All three support manual IMAP account setup. When adding the account, choose IMAP (not POP or Exchange) and use the same imap.biz22.com / smtp.biz22.com settings from the table above. For Calendar/Contacts sync on desktop, add a CalDAV/CardDAV account (Apple Mail/Calendar/Contacts have this built in under System Settings → Internet Accounts; Outlook and Thunderbird need a CalDAV/CardDAV add-in) pointed at dav.biz22.com.
No setup needed — go to webmail.biz22.com and sign in with your full email address and password.
Note: Exchange ActiveSync ("Exchange" account type) isn't available on the Standard plan's current mailbox tier — it requires an Enterprise mailbox plan. Use the IMAP setup above instead; it covers mail, and CalDAV/CardDAV covers Calendar and Contacts.
Server name not working, or password rejected? Double-check you're using your full email address as the username, not just the local part — contact us if it's still not connecting.
Premium includes a full Google Workspace account on your own domain (like you@yourbusiness.com) — Gmail, Google Docs, Sheets & Slides, Meet video calls, and 30 GB of Drive storage, all synced across your phone, laptop, and the Gmail app you already use. We provision the account for you automatically as part of onboarding, resold through our Google Workspace partner, Sherweb.
We create your Google Workspace account after your domain registers, and send you your new address and login instructions in a separate email as soon as it's ready — no action is needed from you in the meantime.
Because Premium is a real Google Workspace account, setup uses the standard Gmail app and Google account sign-in you already know — on iPhone, Android, or desktop, sign in with your new you@yourbusiness.com address in the Gmail app (or Google's Device Policy / account setup flow) the same way you would for any Google account. We'll send you your login once your account is ready.
Unlike Standard, there's no separate CalDAV/CardDAV step — Mail, Calendar, Contacts, Docs, and Drive are all pre-integrated as part of the one Google account, and sync automatically once you're signed in.
For exact device-by-device steps, Google maintains official setup instructions we keep up to date better than we could: Set up mobile devices and Gmail & Calendar and the full Google Workspace Learning Center.
